Why do people insist on giving girly names like Aubrey to boys?

I think many parents are trying to come up with a unique name, and they don't stop to think of the merciless teasing their child will encounter as a result. Parents who give their children strange names are doing them a disservice (and that includes celebrities giving their children names like "Apple").
