Do Lebanese people practice male supremacy?

I dated a Lebanese man. He was wack. He DEMANDED that I have with him after knowing him for a week, and if I didn't, we were "just friends". He demanded that I bow down to him and anticipate his needs and he acted as if I was his slave. He had this mindset that women are the property of men. Is this common with all Lebanese people?
