My new tetra whisper ex20 is rattling?

It is something called cavitation, if you see no dirt or defects in the motor. Because of the centrifugal force around the impeller, any air bubble is going to expand hugely in the partial vacuum the impeller creates. This causes the rattling. Turning off the filter for two minutes usually is long enough for the bubbles to rise up out of the pump part of the filter.
