Is the human species an evolutionarily maladapted one?
The shark and the dinosaur were around for so long because of their physical adaptations that made them able to survive. The humans on the other hand were equipped with opposable thumbs, working vocal chords, a large frontal lobe, and an insatiable drive. These things produced a creature that could hand tools, share information, think on a higher level and who reproduced like none other. These things, too, especially the advanced thinking have caused us to be able to be glutinous, which no other animal has really been able to do to the same extent, and that is what I believe is causing our current dilemma.
